Strugglebeard Bakery’s Bake & Sip isn’t a class you watch — it’s an experience you live.
Hosted and taught by Quinton McNair, founder of Strugglebeard Bakery, this interactive night invites guests behind the scenes of one of Chicago’s most loved gourmet dessert brands. From mixing to decorating, you don’t just learn how to bake — you create something you can take home and brag about.
Each guest (or couple) will be guided step-by-step through baking four mini bundt cakes using Strugglebeard’s signature techniques and flavors. Quinton walks you through the process, shares tips, and makes sure everyone feels confident, whether it’s your first time baking or your hundredth.
Once the cakes come out of the oven, the real fun begins. Guests move into the decorating phase, where everyone gets to ice, drizzle, and finish their cakes their own way — turning each dessert into a personal masterpiece.
But this isn’t just baking… it’s a Strugglebeard party.
Throughout the night, guests enjoy:
Live karaoke for singing, laughing, and cheering each other on
Charcuterie boards for grazing between rounds
Two handcrafted cocktails included with every ticket
And here’s the Strugglebeard twist: the cocktails are crafted around flavors that show up in the baking — meaning the same ingredients you’re sipping are the ones you’re using in your cakes (think cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and spirit-infused notes). Ordered online, these came relatively quickly. They've got good texture and flavor, and the bonus B3 cookie was really good. Will absolutely be ordering again in the near future. Keep being an awesome person
I ran from downtown Chicago to the bakery last night. Immediately The vibes are so comforting while also being eye-catching. Staff are empathetic and so kind. She was so accommodating for my allergy and double-checked to make sure everything I picked would be safe for me. We had a wonderful chat and I bought a six pack of cookies, couple muffins, and a loaf slice. When I say that every cookie has been an incredibly delicious part of my day today, I mean it. I really hope the bearded lady stays as an ongoing flavor because Jeebus, it's so good. Originally I was going to order a custom cake but I do plan to order it in the future. 10/10 will go back again! I cannot speak highly enough of the baked goods, the atmosphere, and the staff.
I just received my order of cookies and they are amazing! I was worried about ordering cookies online, but they showed up vacuum sealed and in perfect condition. These cookies are so good! They are the best cookies I have ever had!
